FAQ

Common questions about packages.

Everything in the tier matrix is binding. Anything beyond is quoted before kickoff. If something below isn't clear, ping us — we'll answer in writing within one business day.

Can I switch tiers after I start?

Yes — upward only, and we re-quote before any extra work begins. About 1 in 5 clients move from Essential to Business or from Business to Business+ once they see the discovery output. We bill the difference, never the full new tier price.

Downgrading mid-project isn't possible because the design and build are already underway, but you can scope down on a future project.

What's the difference between Essential and a Wix template?

Essential is built on a real CMS (Webflow or WordPress, your choice), with a custom layout — not a stock template. We do the writing structure for you, set up basic SEO properly, and ship a site you actually own. Wix is fine for some businesses, but you don't own the platform and you're locked in. Our Essential tier is for businesses that want to keep options open as they grow.

Why is Business + so much more than Business?

Three reasons: e-commerce setup adds significant complexity (payment, inventory, shipping, tax), professional copywriting on 5 pages takes a senior writer 15+ hours, and the review automation system requires platform setup + workflow design. Each is a deliberate addition — not an upsell. If you don't need any of the three, stay on Business.

Do I have to pay for hosting after the first 12 months?

Yes — hosting + maintenance after year one is $480/year (or $48/month) for Essential and Business, $720/year for Business+, custom-priced for Custom. We never auto-renew without notice. You can also self-host on your own AWS, Vercel, Webflow, or WordPress account at any time — we provide the export.

Are revisions actually limited, or does that get fuzzy?

It's literal. A revision round is one consolidated round of feedback per phase (design, build, content). Within a round you can request as many changes as you want; between rounds the design moves forward. We've found this rhythm produces better outcomes than unlimited revisions, which tend to spiral. If you genuinely need more rounds, additional rounds are $400 each.

What happens if my project takes longer than the quoted timeline?

If the delay is on our side, we don't charge extra. If it's because content is late or feedback takes longer than the round window, the timeline shifts but the price holds. We flag risks two weeks in advance — never with a surprise email the day of launch.

Can I bring my own designer or developer?

Sometimes — usually under the Custom tier. If you have a designer who's done the design and you just need build, we can scope a build-only engagement starting at $3,200. If you have a developer and need design, that's typically $4,800–$8,000 depending on page count.

Do you take payment plans?

Yes — every tier defaults to a deposit + balance-on-launch split, which works for most small businesses. For Business+ and Custom we can split into thirds (deposit, midpoint, launch) on request. We don't carry interest or financing — payment plans are simply scheduled.

What if I don't like the final design?

It's never happened in 11 years — but the protection is structural. Each phase is signed off in writing before moving forward. Design is approved before we build. Build is reviewed before we launch. If something is off, we catch it inside a revision round, not at the end. Worst case, if a phase output is genuinely unusable, we redo the phase at no charge.

"
We picked the Business tier and got a site that out-converts what our previous agency built for ten times the price. The pricing transparency was the deciding factor — we knew exactly what we were getting before signing anything, and the price stayed where they quoted it.
